The UK blew up the pipeline not the US. The UK saw the war in Ukraine as an opportunity to try to claw back some power and prestige on the world stage. So t Boris went to the Ukraine to stop the war from ending and the SAS blew up the pipeline to keep the Germans from trying to find an off ramp.
