@alanlight7740 Most of those blacks in the South supported it because they were outnumbered in their odds. If the ones that were set free had disagreements they'd lose everything (what little was given). There's siding with the same intentions then there's peer pressure from the majority since you are in the SOUTH!... and just one cat call away from a lynching.

@forrealitsjohnny Now say that again without making me laugh. Their whole purpose was to fight for "state rights" -- the freedom to practice their only means to survive -- which is... SURPRISE! Has to do with "slaves" farming their agriculture. You can use thousands of words but it all means the same thing. They fought the war to preserve "SLAVERY"

@landonbass83 I can see if your ancestor died in the battle for the Confederacy. Can't hold that against you but those who believe it was for a good cause is outta their mind. Celebrate your Confederate ancestors with personal memorials NOT as public figures
