The US has sanctioned countries for far less, and they are still sanctioning Cuba (!) Principles are not in fact principles of they only apply when you want them to.

  2. Absolute Bullshit. The US and collective West covering for Israels crimes, supplying arms to a country accused of genocide and threatening punitive action against the ICJ? THAT'S what will end the global order. The US seizing Russian assets throught the global financial system is what already have created incentive for BRICS+ nations to seek alternative systems and reserve currencies. In short, the US is not a trustworthy broker and cannot be allowed the position of unipolar hegemon any longer by other influential nations across the globe. Harari is a great writer, but he knows fuck all about geopolitics.

  4. If its "ally" is committing genocide, then yes, they should absolutely turn their back on them. Especially since the US is currently dismantling the entire international order to protect Israel. This will hurt the US immeasurably in the coming years. The global south will definitely never again look to the US for moral leadership. The West will, because they're vassals and do what their US and Israeli masters tell them to. And Israel is not the US' oldest ally. They didn't exist before 1948. France, The UK and Canada are the US' oldest allies.

  6. Sometimes you need a good, strong fever ie Trump to flush out the infection. When/If Trump destroys what's left of the international order and US diplomatic power, the rest of the world will readjust and will never look to the US again for moral leadership. That's a good thing, as they've shown they're not worthy. The kids will be vindicated and will be hailed as heroes, like you people always do. Think of MLK or Susan B Anthony and the malignant system they had to stand up to. Protests work. They just take a long time...

  13. Great comment. Israel has fostered an ideology of a "chosen people" in a "holy land" and made it a national project. It's very hard to not draw direct lines to certain nations that also viewed themselves as superior and sought lands to expand into that were inhabited by "lesser" peoples....
