  1. We should do away with the term "Eastern Europe" entirely. It's still used as a derogatory dog whistle. West, South, Central Europe and Russia. Easy. And I say this as a "Westerner" who has an axe to grind with many Central European countries and their policies in the EU and in general. The Visegrad countries in particular.

  2. Poland and Hungary: The greatest beneficiaries in the history of the EU, and somehow their governments are their greatest opponents. It's never your fault. It's the Ottomans or the Russians or the Swedes or the Austrians or the Soviets. And now it's apparently the EU, who have done nothing but help you claw out of the shithole that was your countries 30 years ago... I'm not saying you have to agree with everything. Of course not. But at least don't be an impediment to every single reform and step towards progress. You can always Poleave and Hungoaway, if you don't like it.
