I think the reason why no one predicted the invasion of Ukraine, was because it didn't make any sense for Russia to do it from a geopolitical or economic standpoint, unless you're simply following a grand strategy based on outdated ideology. Gaming theory would predict Finland and Sweden joining NATO, regardless of the outcome of the war in Ukraine.

As a fellow Dane, I'd have to agree regarding incompetence of the defence ministry and especially their handling of their budget. I do however think it's absolute batshit to almost double the defence budget (to meet the NATO 2%) when it's all based on future loans in a struggling international economy. It's simply fiscally irresponsible. But when the US says "Jump", Denmark always says "How high?" 1,5% in all of European NATO would be more than enough to secure Europe from a Russian Threat. Not a very popular opinion, I know, but the numbers are nonetheless clear.

@exantiuse497 I agree completely. It just seems extremely brazen to assume a quick campaign. When has a country the size and population of Ukraine ever been taken and held with such a small force and with such speed? It really doesn't matter now. Let's just all hope that the Russians can see the futility of their war very soon.
