  1. Yes, the EU should be strategically independent. We don't know when they'll vote in another Trump (or just the same guy again). A Chinese invasion on Taiwan should be met with tough European sanctions, not military action. I hate his political views in general, but Macron isn't wrong. If you pissed off the Eastern Europeans, chances are you're doing something right.

  2. People seem to forget that we're actually not at war with Russia. Why the hell would anyone want to go to war with China when you can cripple them entirely through economic sanctions?

  3. What are you talking about? Excluding the US and Canada, NATO spending is well above 600 bill USD. Russia's might lies in its nuclear deterrent, which any amount of convential forces will never be able to negate.
