  1. Of course it isn't the same. However, I don't think that it's necessarily a bad thing to draw parallels to the abuses of our own governments in the West. As an example, we see blatant racism called "criticism" and actual criticism (eg on the horrible crimes of allies in Israel, Saudi et) called out as "anti-Semitism" or "phobic" when it suits the narrative. And the atrocities just continue despite "our" full knowledge of them.
