  10. Isn't the simplest solution to the "paradox" basically time and distance? And perhaps the next "threshold" techs don't even involve megastructures and discernible signals like we've imagined in most sci fi and theoretical science. We are in fact at the level where applied nuclear physics is still just steam engines and giant kabooms.

Economics in our world is a "3 body problem" that we try to predict every goddamn week. And they're all completely wrong.
