  1. I take offense at your description of "civilised people". But I guess you hit the nail on the head when you compare Ukraine to the numerous atrocities and aggression commited by the US and their allies in Israel and Saudi.

  2. What doesn't make any sense is why Putin only took Crimea in 2014. With this move he gave Ukraine 8 years of preparation and combat training in Donbas and allowed them to shore up alliances and support in case of an attack, or at the very least during Trump's presidency where we would assume the US would've stayed completely out of the conflict. I know, hindsight and all, but I didn't see the war coming because it made no geostrategic sense from a Russian perspective, even if they achieved their goals.
