Putin is most definitely playing with a full deck. Don't fall into the usual arrogant US habit and underestimate him or Russia. The US has done nothing but underestimate their adversaries and have failed repeatedly because of it. US policy hasn't exactly been rational either the last 25 years.

@geraint8989 Blaming the US is absolutely relevant. You need to learn what constitutes context, brother. At the very least you should point out the hypocrisy and the illogical argument: IIf Russia is so weak, why are the politicians freaking out about Russia, then? Which is it? A weak military and economy collapsing, or an existential threat akin to the USSR at the height of the cold war? It's all PR and politics to make you forget the irrational policies and the money they're siphoning off from health, education and infrastructure. Secondly: Do you believe that the US has acted with equal morals and action in Ukraine versus in Gaza? Exactly. Hypocrisy. Principles are not dependent on skin colour. No one in our lifetimes will listen to the West on human rights because of Israel and its evil campaign. Yes, purely evil. They've corrupted all of you, but especially the US.

His killing is tragic, no doubt of that. But are we completely glossing over the fact that Navalny was an avowed racist calling Muslims "cockroaches" and said that "they are rotten teeth that need to be removed"? People need to know the man and if they should mourn his passing.

@evananderson1455 And it's entirely ignorant of you to assume anything about my opinions on Russia. But don't throw rocks when the US have been utterly humiliated in Afghanistan and Vietnam, countries even poorer than Ukraine, and spent trillions in Iraq on creating a failed state. You tell me if that was handled properly, or if you underestimated the people you were figthing and their resolve? How about the hilarious campaign in Yemen? The worlds poorest country after 10 years of Saudi atrocities (Brought to you by Lockheed, of course) and continously being bombed now by the US. Do you think the US are underestimating their ability to simply not give a shit and keep fighting? You do you. It just boggles the mind how the US can keep repeating the same mistakes in every military campaign. PS: What the fuck is 4D chess? Time and space is the same dimension. Did you mean 3D chess?

@geraint8989 Pointing out hypocrisy is just that, not whataboutism. You keep doing whatever you want. It seems to be working like a charm. I'm not going to convince you of anything, and you've convinced me only of your inability to listen and learn from history. Here's a "whataboutism" for you: The US funding and supplying the murder of civilians in you-know-where (because we can't even mention it without censorship), while condemning and sanctioning Russia for the same type of crimes, but far less in death and suffering. You can shove you free speech and human rights up wherever, bub. No one believes the US anymore and no one believes in the US anymore.

@evananderson1455 Then why are we so afraid of Russia? You don't see the utter dishonesty in calling Russia weak and at the same time pleas for massive weapon spending increases and spreading fear of war? The last case with the "Russian space nukes" which was based on no actual facts was especially grievous. Just making shit up now and having the media sell it...

No doubt that Russia murdered him. However it's important to point out that Navalny received funding and training from the US (Wikileaks) and they're exploiting his death by parading his widow at the MSC. Other dissidents have been imprisoned and/or killed without a peep from the media and the US. And then there's the numerous US journalists murdered where the US didn't speak out - Abu Akhleh, Khashoggi, Lira. They're just doing the usual and protecting their interests, whish if fine, but don't ever believe the gaslighting that the US is doing this for democracy or human rights.
