  2. The Russians have sucked since day one, but this is a desperate gambit by Ukraine before they effectively have lost their capabilities to wage offensive warfare against Russia. They've correctly deduced that Russia politically can never accept a situation where their territory is occupied, but I don't believe that Ukraine has the manpower, materiel and support needed to force Moscow to the table. Russia is indeed hurting, but they're far from breaking. Case in point: The massive weapon deliveries to Iran the last weeks.
