It'll be a prolonged affair akin to Syria and The West is perfectly fine with giving Russia a bloody nose if it only costs a few billion worth of military hardware and thousands upon thousands of Ukrainian lives. As soon as the war actually impacts Europeans in a meaningful way ie prolonged food, gas, heating prices and severe inflation, they'll gladly sell out Ukraine...
