  1. Iran is all talk, no action. They and the Israelis have used each other as a convenient political enemy to fire up the base at home and justify repression of dissent based on that popularity. They actually need each other in order to stabilise their internal political problems.

  2. There is absolutely no proof of a "Sinai insurgency" consisting of Isis and/or Al Qaeda. The obvious and likely cause in Sinai has been the expelling of Bedouin communities from strategic lands for development and rounding up/killing political dissidents. Like Israel, Sisi is using global terrorism as an excuse to clamp down hard on political opponent.
