  1. I don't quite understand why people keep insisting on using the term "world war" when speaking of Russia, China and/or the US. China vs Taiwan, The US and maybe Japan/ROK/Phillipines is not a world war by any meaning of the world.

  2. About the ADIS: It's outright ridiculous that Taiwan expects the PRC to abide by a unilateral line that includes sovereign PRC territory. Imagine if Canada felt "provoked" every time the US conducted air patrols in Maine or Washington. Even the median line is an arbitrary line drawn without consideraton of sovereign or international airspace. I'm no fan of the CCP or Pooh Xinping. But that part smacks of usual western hegemonic arrogance the way you report it. About Chinese demography and economy: Yes. China faces many challenges with regards to population, debt, water, education, pollution and a thoroughly corrupt political class. But to assume that China will only grow weaker and that the US will at least be able to maintain it's economic and military strength is pure conjecture. China doesn't have to be economically or militarily stronger than the US. They just need to have the ability to interdict US naval and aerial presence surrounding China and Taiwan.

  3. The QUAD is a forum, a coffee round table. It has no authority or legally binding agreements for the parties involved. In essence it's a moot point if you're discussing direct military intervention.
