  1. The counteroffensive is more akin to a siege, than maneuver warfare. Ukraine simply doesn't have the necessary artillery and air capabilities to succesfully engage the entrenched Russian lines. Just an opinion, of course.

  3. General rule of thumb: Anyone commenting on complex issues with absolute certainty, be it economics, geo-politics or under a fog of war like in this case, either has an agenda or is a charlatan. That is among the reasons why we all appreciate Puck Andersens honest and rational analyses so much.
