  1. You forgot Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia. All shifting towards authoritarianism. It's only a matter of time before the EU has a constitutional crisis. Ruling the world was not as great as we made out to be. Let the US have their turn with running an empire...

  2. NATO wasn't seeking to expand its empire. They bombed the shit out of you because you were killing, raping and expelling people from their ancestral homes.

  3. Just a personal opinion, but the EU already has plenty of problems with authoritarian fifth columns within, be they pro- or anti-Russian (Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia etc...). Countries like Moldova, Serbia and yes, Ukraine can join when they have a proven record for rule of law and liberal democratic values. I'm tired of former destitute members now being the loudest critics of the EU, despite being the biggest beneficiaries.
