1,5% in effective defence spending is more than enough to keep every NATO country safe. And yes, many countries would need a one-time spending bill to revamp their equipment. The rest is just social welfare for (predominantly) US weapons manufacturers. What if NATO countries earmarked 0,5% of the GDP for energy research, disaster relief capabilites and/or stock medical research,supplies & equipment instead? Hell, even taxcuts would be more beneficial than throwing more money that isn't needed into an economic black hole...

@dylanwhite3383 It has nothing to do with NATO. The fact that you love to throw trillions in spending to repeatedly fuck with poor brown and asian people has nothing to do with the security of the alliance. The 2% agreement is, politely put, a social welfare program for predominantly US weapons manufacturers. Maybe you should spend a little less on the military and a bit more on public education ?
