Obama was re-elected after increasing drone warfare (and civilian casualties) by an order of magnitude. These are not referendums on morality, legality or even basic humanity.

  15. The US aerial supremacy hinges on 2 things: 1) Carrier ability to project power 2) That the enemy doesn't have vast anti-air capabilities. The carrier group doctrine has effectively become obsolet against an enemy with the abilities to overwhelm their missile defenses with sheer numbers. You don't even need to sink the carrier with "hypersonic kill missiles" when massed, cheap drones and missiles will force a strategic withdrawal.

  17. The West are wasting their money on Tanks and surface ships, trying to fight the last war, instead of adapting to the new warfare. Russia and now the Chinese have realised that doctrines have changed and that cheap drones will be the new dominant war asset on land, sea and in the air.

  18.  @carolynzaremba5469  True, but my point was to the original comment. If you have half the population, it's easier, not harder, to supply it (assuming the island isn't completely self-sufficient - which no island is afaik). A more apt example would be Gibraltar if Spain was hostile.
