  2. The US aerial supremacy hinges on 2 things: 1) Carrier ability to project power 2) That the enemy doesn't have vast anti-air capabilities. The carrier group doctrine has effectively become obsolet against an enemy with the abilities to overwhelm their missile defenses with sheer numbers. You don't even need to sink the carrier with "hypersonic kill missiles" when massed, cheap drones and missiles will force a strategic withdrawal.
