  1. Belt and Road summed up: You borrow money from China in the hopes of expanding trade and creating jobs. Hou have to use chinese companies for the project. When you inevitably fail to pay the loans - eg. Ethiopia, Sri Lanka etc. China has a clause that allows them to lease the area for 100 years. No mention of them turning it into a military base of course... It's basically borrowing from a loanshark. If you don't pay up, you'll get hurt. Badly.
