  1. I like to point out the measured diplomatic approach in his interview. Although he clearly has personal and political interests at heart (board of BP, advisor to Blair), it's nice to hear political commentators and/or media that use a language of de-escalation instead of banging the drums of fear and belligerence.

  2. In what way is the US war in Iraq different from what Russia has done? How to view the Israeli policy of systematic oppression and illegal seizure of land (wall, settlements, evictions)? This is not a defence for Russian motives and actions, merely a way to point out how "we" in the West are utterly unconcerned when we are committing or aiding acts of aggression and causing untold human misery. Hypocrisy seems to be our greatest export.
