  1. Mackinder is so full of shit, he's a viable alternative to the fertilizer shortage. His theory is unverified, unproven and like many "simple" theories underestimate the importance of technology, current geopolitics and the power of safe maritime access. It's an obsolete idea.

  2. Same in "Vassal Europe". I'm increasingly considering emigration to countries that at the very least have a neutral attitude towards the US, UK and Israel. It's sickening to be an unwilling part of this madness.

  3. The Kurds lost every ounce of legitimacy and sympathy from me when they chose to become Israeli collaborators, in effect sell out the Palestinians, in the hopes of promoting their own independence for their (also) historically oppressed people.

  4. I don't believe that Iran has any intention of doing anything - which really makes the US and Israel even more insane in their rhetoric. Iran, Israel, Saudi and Turkey have each politicians that have benefitted domestically by painting each other as adversaries and/or enemies. It's simply not in their interest to neutralize anyone as they can keep milking each other for political points at home. The only outlier is Netanyahu which now desperately needs the US to enter a war on the side of Israel to maintain his legitimacy and possibly increase his popularity among the increasingly radicalised Israeli population. Just my 2 cents.
