@sanjaybhatikar Former leftist? If you're in the US, I have a hard time believing you ever were a leftist. Being for common sense and rights for women, migrants and LGBT isn't a left or right issue.

@jonniewesterop2478 Being Liberal is a third axis of politics. Socialism in terms of economic policies is "leftism". Liberalism is more about social norms and freedoms.

@jenniferlawrence2701 No. They're liberal and progressive issues in social terms. You think Marx and Trotsky were pro-LGBT? Socialism ie leftist policies in its true from are far more concerned with economic disparity and combating capitalism, than what could be considered "virtue" signalling. Although I would give you that there is a very strong overlap today, as the main focus has become any type of inequality and inequity for traditional left policies. What I'm trying to say is that most Americans might be socially liberal, but economically they're very much still in the right wing capitalist camp without even realising it.
