We have an energy crisis and Russian gas is the lifeline to half of Europe. I we didn't so badly depend on Russian gas during winter, maybe it would be more than empty "warnings".

"No more Ukraine or Ukrainian people" Zelensky calling it a genocide. Meanwhile, the same Zelensky was in support of moving the US embassy to Jerusalem, thus fully supporting the ethnic cleansing and occupation of Palestinian lands. God help Ukraine. But enough with the racial hypocrisy.

And "my grandfather smoked for 80 years and he lived to be 80 years" STFU

@cybourne5910 It would, but more expensive and not near enough to cover the demand. Furthermore, I'm not sure that there is infrastructure in place (ports and lines) to accommodate distribution. Gee, if only we had a warning that the Rus could do such a thing (hint: we've had several...)

I'm on the fence. And I'm no fan of Erdogan. And admittedly I don't know enough about this "billionaire philanthropist" (which is on any account a very biased representation) and his role in the coup. We're (Western Europe) very good at taking free shots except when they're "our friends". UAE, Saudi, Egypt, Israel and yes, the US, which in every aspect has committed far larger crimes against humanity and crimes of war, but somehow still gets a pass. At this point, our words mean nothing if we aren't consistent in our actions towards these crimes. All these countries

Well, they saved Vienna... Anything else is conjecture.

The psyche of the nations that are vehemently opposing EU regulations can be somewhat attributed to the dark history of Poland and Hungary, formerly proud defenders of Europe during the Ottoman Wars, that were subjugated by their neighbours. They achieved full independence again in 1918 only to become essentially client states to the USSR until 1989. Knowing and understanding this is imo a key component to the resurgence of nationalist populism and an attitude that equates integration and compromise within the EU to abject subjugation... Once again...

Bennet doesn't believe in two states. And he doesn't believe in citizenship for Palestinians. So, logically, he believes in a supremacist Apartheid state with Palestinian enclaves that will be slowly ethnically cleansed...

Myocarditis, not infarction, is a small but reported adverse effect of Covid and the vaccine. Infarctions would regularly be a result of strained cardio-pulmonary systems in a vulnerable individual.
4
No. Because the country would crumble internally if they didn't keep pushing a foreign enemy. Just like Iran, politicians thrive on demagogue and inciting conflict. It's no coincidence that a majority of bombings in Gaza or provocation in Jerusalem is before an election or during an American election...

We will make you pay... military contractors billions in new contracts

Btw love your avatar. Do you happen to play EU4?

@stavrosk.2868 It's the same when people say that "the West" was saved in the battle of Marathon. Conjecture at best...
2
China, a totalitarian surveillance regime where the virus originated haven't updated their reports since march 2020,. So this report is moot with regards to dark numbers of Covid related deaths.

A superpower is a country that projects influence across the globe. And can back it up militarily. Only the US still has that capability.
2
@D.u.d.e.r Caps does nothing but make your reply hard to read. Are China and Russia "Great Powers"? Absolutely. But they have very few allies, fewer military bases and capabilities. If, say, a war broke out between Iran and Saudi Arabia (not an unlikely scenario), how much power can Russia and/or China bring to bear? What about conflict in sub-sahara Africa, or South America?
2
Poland was the first country in Europe to have a constitution? Laying it on a bit thick are we? My friend, other countries had constitutions before Poland even existed as an entity.
2
That's such a bad idea. Haven't we learned anything from the "expansion for the sake of expansion" doctrine from the last 20 years? Can anyone honestly say that Bulgaria and Romania were ready for membership! The EU needs to consolidate its values on research, energy, agriculture and, most importantly, taxation of corporations. Our democratic institutions are under siege in Hungary, Poland, Slovenia and Slovakia. Let's get that under control before we even think of discussing further expansion.
2
And if the rest of us wish the Poles (and Hungarians) would leave?

It's all about money for UEFA, FIFA and IOC. I don't know how we did it, but the most corrupt organisations on earth are caretakers of the most pure thing that is supposed to bring us together and celebrate each other.

@solaroid4442 Who's talking about NATO?
1
@solaroid4442 You really want to open up the subject of weapon supplies? Syria? Nagorno? Donbas? If Ukraine chooses to purchase arms legally, it's their right. That's the only rational response after Crimea. There is, and won't be, any talks of Ukraine joining NATO as no one wants to provoke a further Russian response. I would however be amiss to point out that Ukraine gave up its nuclear capabilities with Russian "guarantees" that it's territorial sovereignty would be respected. So why would Ukraine trust any further agreements with Russia today? Especially after the illegal annexation of Crimea.
1
I understand your point, but I think we all learned from history that "appeasing" a bully only leads to further conflict down the line.

@deborahfreedman333 Apologies if it sounded like that, that wasn't the intention. The intended message was to correct the OP about infarction Vs myocarditis.

Pennsylvania accent?

That's not how immunity works. You're either willfully lying or hilariously ignorant. Pick one.

It doesn't matter what the public opinion is if the governing body is lock-step behind a decision. Especially if said governing body is actively undermining the very institutions (courts and media) that would otherwise check their executive and legislative powers.
1
Wow. Who could've predicted this...
1
Are you naive infants? Every nation has compromised its own values for the sake of furthering geo-politico-economical interests. With the US, choose your poison: Egypt, Saudi, UAE, Israel... none of these countries are considering consciable or moral regimes.

Poleave. Hungone. Sloven..erh...I got nothing...

@Hungabrigoo Good one

@arthursimsa9005 "CisJordania" ? And eastern Ukraine is Luhansk and Donetsk, right? Thank you for underlining the main point in my argument. When "our buddies" ie Israel, Saudi etc are engaged in atrocities, we'll deflect with neutering clinical terms, and may a condemnation. But woe upon ye if you engage in the very same atrocities if the US is not on your side. Finally, the term "genocide" has a very specific legal definition. It's not the case in Ukraine. War crimes? Absolutely. And every one of those Russian criminals should be brought to justice. Now, let's see if Israel any day will face justice for their well documented war crimes (HRW, Amnesty and official UN reports have confirmed this), including a systematic deportation of an ethnic group against their will ie ethnic cleansing.
1
@arthursimsa9005 I'm perfectly aware. It's offensive. You're deliberately using a colonial name as if the indigenous people hardly had a presence there. Do you still refer to Zimbabwe as Rhodesia too? What about Negroes and Orientals? It speaks volumes, mate.
1
@arthursimsa9005 The "fence" is a wall. And it's built on land internationally recognized to be Palestinian lands. It's nothing short of an illegal annexation separating communities and impoverishing farmers on the border. Settlements = illegal. Wall = illegal. Occupation = illegal. Treating people differently on the same piece of land distinguished only by ethnicity = Apartheid. I'll let you have the last word, as this exchange has been like trying to knock your head repeatedly against "a fence".
