Sure, except great powers have traditionally not given up on a war until far too late. Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan (US and USSR). And Biden calling Putin a war criminal is 1) Hilarious coming from the same guy that voted for the Iraq war and 2) extremely dangerous as you're cornering a wounded beast. Especially if public opinion in Russia turns against him. It's reckless.

@DaemonJax When all the billionaires propping up the regime start to bleed their billions, I believe the military and intelligence apparatus will overthrow him. Russia's economy could possibly have withstood a low intensity conflict for many years, but the current casualty rates and, probably more importantly, the impact of sanctions and looming technical default represent a clear danger to the current regime. Putin's ego however won't allow for an antebellum status quo.

@yaash4123 Get your facts straight before you make a fool of yourself. Joe Biden not only voted for the war in Iraq, he was lockstep behind the Bush agenda and their fabricated reasons to invade a country and destabilise an entire region. Sound familiar? If war crimes ,of which there were many, are committed during an illegal war that you sanctioned and voted, then at the very least you're complicit in the crimes. How many soldiers have actually been held responsible for their specific crimes? How many politicians for lying us all into an illegal war? How many commanders have been tried by the ICC in the Hague? So yeah, Joe Biden (among many others) is a fucking hypocrite and wants to bleed Russia dry, but only if it solely costs Ukrainian lives and livelihoods.
