It's exceedingly arrogant to think alien civilizations are hard to find, just because we've been actively searching for them for 60+ years out of the last 10 billion years and among 100.000 lightyears and 200 billion stars just in our own galaxy. The solution to the Fermi "paradox" is this: Time. Distance. And the (faulty?) assumption that visible megastructures, technological paths and means of communication would be universal. End of discussion.
