  1. The essence of the "conflict" (An advanced state military Vs an impoverished people): Israel has for 56 years been occupying land which by international law isn't theirs. Their settlements are illegal theft of land, Palestinians outside Israel are without any legal protections and living under a de facto Apartheid regime, and the siege of Gaza constitutes not only an act of war, but collective punishment of a population - which is a war crime. Anyone with an objective outlook cannot deny that the above is the essence of the conflict. End the occupation and settlements and there is no conflict.

  2. Bullshit. Israel is an occupying nation, and a brutal one at that. You cannot defend the systematic, daily violence and humiliation against the Palestinian people if you have any basic knowledge about the conflict.
