92.000 dead (after the battle of France) Or as they would call it on the Eastern Front: Tuesday.

For a guy named Smart, he should have relied a bit more on intelligence before launching the second raid. It's of course easy to comment in hindsight, but the mere fact that these vital installations were virtually unprotected to begin with is itself astonishing. That they protected them after the initial probing raid shouldn't however have been a surprise...

Gettysburg ended any hopes of the South ending the war on their own terms. It made it a war of attrition instead of a war of winning large, pompous battlefield victories. And it ultimately shattered the myth of Lee...

Unlikely. We would have found remains of tech and/or advanced construction methods. We cannot assume anything about their general level of knowledge, though, as most of it has been destroyed.

@ogunmontgomery103 I have no fucking clue what you just said. If nothing is left, than how can you assume that they in fact were "more advanced". What you yourself consider "more advanced" is not relevant. There's a clear scale of scientific knowledge that pertains to "advancement" of a civilization. Objective historical accounts are among them. Cut the ethno-national crap, ya basha.

Nothing better than a so-called health provider making money selling your personal information. Truly lovely.

500 years of systemic oppression and ethnic cleansing have a way to make Ireland think twice about rushing into war on the side of the British. The real question is: Were there any good reasons to NOT be neutral.

"Uranus" very aptly named for how it ended for the Germans

"We" ? Pretty sure you and me didn't fight

For all their talk of honour and chivalry, these medieval lords and knights were nothing more than greedy, scheming snakes. The lot of them. Being honourable is a bit like heterosexuality. If you constantly have to speak about it, changes are you're compensating for something.

You'll be back after 2 weeks, buddy.

@AlexS-oj8qf I will dismiss your theory because it lacks a critical component: Evidence to support your theory. Built by aliens? Humans were way smarter back then? Ancient civiizations possessed a level of knowledge and sophistication that was lost? All of these are possible. But based on what we know - none of them are in any possible way likely. You can't prove a negative hence the burden of proof is on you. And so far you've produced nothing to change the views on that.

If they wish it, then absolutely.

Plenty of the "heartland" semi-empty states that could easily be merged into a handful of culturally and politically meaningful "grand states" instead. There's huge amounts of money, manpower and time wasted with governing 800.000 people in each of five states when you could do the same with a single state of 4-odd million people.

@iyoutubeperson4336 Or just deaths by pollution in China

"Keys to heaven" Yeah, someone should've called bullshit early on...

You're assuming that Scots and Welsh have to militarily fight for their independence. That's a bit of a stretch, although not entirely an impossible scenario. It's more likely that they'll secede when they see that there are greater benefits to being independent and in the EU, than being shackled by Westminster and an increasingly irrelevant England.
5
Exactly. They had not overall strategy for winning the war beyond winning decisive battles, which they did repeatedly. Grant merely gøslowly grinded their capabilities to dust after each battle, win or lose. Fun fact: Lee had a higher rate of losses than Grant. If anyone, Lee and people like Jackson and Hood were the true "butchers".

So a private enterprise that was "too big to fail" and then was bailed out by the state... And no one was held responsible for the corruption and incompetence, of course.

Portuguese: When an entire country of deaf people try to speak Spanish.

@Lodatz You forget that at that point, Ireland had only been truly independent for 18 years. To throw yourself headlong into a war, under probable British command, and risking bombings and attacks on your merchant marine for what? What could the Irish achieve by joining the war versus the risks? I'm not arguing from a moral standpoint. That is obvious and would be the same for the Swedish, Swiss, Turks and Portuguese. Merely an economic and "real" political standpoint. To that I reiterate: No good reasons to NOT stay neutral.

No! Thank you for a great channel!

Fool me twice through Belgium...

Except they it as supposed allies. But you're right. They conquered the city by betraying their Christian brothers... for money and ships from Venice. Boy, those crusaders were great, huh?
2
@mariano98ify Did they announce a crusade to "liberate The Holy Land" whilst doing it? No? Then I would argue that it's not the same thing. But I see your point. Having said that: The whole concept of "liberating" Jerusalem after it being in Muslim control for 400 years is a bit ridiculous. Yet you still hear that argument from ill-informed people in discussions.
2
Perme Abang Please elaborate. If you mean I assume, by saying that their is no proof of the above statements, then you are correct. To put it a bit absurdly: I think ancient smart dragons built the pyramids and gave their knowledge to the ancient Egyptians. Prove me wrong...

They tried and failed. Also, Portugal were allied to England since the 1400s, the only power that could seriously hurt the vast Spanish Empire.

400 years of Turkish presence: Nothing 20 years of French presence: Every Lebanese starts speaking French, some even at home... Yeah, sir. You're very proud of your heritage. Sorry, I meant oui, Monsieur...

Maybe the Poles have been screwed so much by their neighbours because everyone got tired of trying to pronounce words with 5 consecutive consonants?

The entire framing of the question normalises the absolute batshit rhetoric coming from the US. Annexation? Ethnic cleansing? Camps and mass deportation? The media, including you, have a responsibility to all of us, and you're failing miserably...
