  1. Except they it as supposed allies. But you're right. They conquered the city by betraying their Christian brothers... for money and ships from Venice. Boy, those crusaders were great, huh?

  2.  @mariano98ify  Did they announce a crusade to "liberate The Holy Land" whilst doing it? No? Then I would argue that it's not the same thing. But I see your point. Having said that: The whole concept of "liberating" Jerusalem after it being in Muslim control for 400 years is a bit ridiculous. Yet you still hear that argument from ill-informed people in discussions.
