The US doesn't give marginally as much aid as the top 10 nations per capita - @Tore Haalands country, I'm guessing Norway - being among the top per capita . https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_development_aid_country_donors Furthermore the US uses aid as a political tool - the last example was when Ecuador (or was it El Salvador?) in the WHO was forced to push babymilk formula to appease American pharmaceutical companies. Contrary to what every goddamn pediatrician would advise - I know because I've worked 2 years in pediatrics. And the rest is dependent on free trade agreements, energy and mineral exports, imports of American goods etc. It is in no way, shape or form different than the colonies of the British Imperial system in the 1800's...
