  2. It's a democracy for 60% of the population and has definite open fascistic and ethnocentric policies for the occupied 40% of its population. The argument here being that if/when/until there's an independent Palestine, the responsibility of the (lack of) rights and liberties of Palestinians are solely the responsibility of Israel.

I don't see anything has changed the last 100 years with regards to journalistic integrity, propaganda or even the new "opium for the masses" ie mass/social media, consumerism, existential fears (migration, terror, climate, globalisation) and entertainment (except the US where opium for the masses seem to be actual opium derivates these days). Like the advent of every other new media, the social body needs time to realign their habits, structures and (did)trust in that media. Finally, I'd generally try to avoid going to bat for an alleged intellectual that writes self-help books for morons...
