  2. The UK is not part of the "open border" Schengen treaty. Try taking a plane or the train to London. Ireland and the UK has a separate border treaty. The question is whether the rest of the EU will accept a continued soft border with regards to customs and tolls of the internal market. What a mess. And all because they took a referendum with barely a majority and acted on it. This will be remembered as the greatest self-inflicted wound to the UK in this century.
