  2.  @Bucharestguidedtours  There is already different tax levels according to the vehicle age. You think they wouldn't introduce pay per mile based on the vehicle age? They would just price older vehicles off the road. But as I said it's just a rumour.

  7.  @gimble447  I don't know how they are going to implement it, it is just a rumour like many of the other rumours. They could require that the mileage is read every year even if the vehicle is under three years old (because the government sets the rules if you don't know) as for altering the mileage, i'm no expert but it is not inconceivable that there is line of code in the software that identifies the date of any changes.

  8.  @gimble447  Just like now cars over a certain age pay a flat rate and not on the c02 generated. Pay by the mile might only be for cars after a certain date and all other cars could pay a flat rate. Who knows it might all come to nothing and they might slap £500 tax on the purchase of new tyres. Now that's started another argument LOL.
