@themindfulnarrowboat The area now is full of new housing estates but the old pub near my home was next to the canal, there are still little signs of the canal contours. This area was mined for coal and lime stone, but instead of locks they had inclines were one boat would use another boat to counter balance each other to rise and lower them selves to the canal height.

What a great vlog this week with a bit of boatman history thrown in🙂. l must say the wreath looks lovely as well as ur Xmas lights. How interesting about the windlass being so many of them of different sizes very educational as usual, last week l did a little research to the local canals that were by near to were l live but were filled in in the 1800's. Thanks again for taking time to share ur week.Simon xx
