A few years ago, Essex County Cricket Club failed some highly subjective 'diversity and inclusiveness' test. As an East Saxon and cricket fan, I wasn't even slightly upset by that.

@josefhotahi The Aussie in question was the late, great Rod Marsh.

@josefhotahi That decision by Greg Chappell to tell his brother Trevor to bowl underarm wasn't exactly his finest moment. NZ needed 6 from the final ball of the game. Hitting a 6 at the MCG would have taken some doing.
2
@josefhotahi You've just reminded me of the Wales-NZ game in Cardiff in 1978 (?), when All Black forward Andy Haden dived out of that line-out near the end of the game. McKechnie kicked the penalty to give the Blacks a narrow victory when they looked like losing narrowly.

@dudebro3250 Marx was also related to the Ratschild clan.

The 'England' footie team is even worse.

Along with 'fascist', 'extreme right', 'far right' and all the other go-to words and phrases they trot out when they can't/won't debate people with differing views.

There have been sports clubs or other organizations for certain gimmegrant groups for decades, but you dare not point out the bigotry and discrimination.

The West Indies have had a few whites. In fact, the team always had a white captain up until the late 1950s, but if the past is a foreign country, the 1950s are a different universe.

Don't tell me. Ms Butts has spent her entire post-university life going from one public sector non-job to another public sector non-job.
1
In fact, Indians are among the most bigoted and insular people going.
1
In all the time I've been following the game (from about 1975), the West Indies team has had just one wyte player, and he was born and bred in Australia to Jamaican immigrant parents.
1
Not to mention Polo mints. They're waaay too wyte.
1
The last wyte man to play for the West Indies was born and bred in Australia to Jamaican parents. He's the only wyte to play for the West Indies in the time I've been following the game (nearly 50 years).

@dudebro3250 Patton used the word 'defeated', but you're right. I'll never forgive Chamberlain and Churchill for not taking us to war with the Bolshevik filth, the real enemy.
1
A publicly-funded commission will never be independent. As you suggest, it almost certainly went into the process with a pre-determined outcome in mind. They were merely fulfilling a brief that was given them by someone in Whitehall, just as Lords Scarman and Macpherson were fulfilling Whitehall briefs with their 'investigations' into 'police brutality' in the 1980s and 1990s.
1
Whoever said the game's 'classist' clearly has no idea about the number of working class players who've been successful over the years.
1
Michael Vaughan was born in Manchester, but spent his entire professional career with Yorkshire, although it's also worth pointing out that he was raised in Sheffield.
1
@Mistermopar They hate Christians and Christianity, as they've been doing for 2000 years or so. They're in no position to accuse others of hating them.
1
@grahamking4280 I'm surprised the Eunuch Cricket Association hasn't complained about that.
1
Major should stick to watching the game and then going straight home afterwards.
1
@tanfosbery1153 Or play IN a non-racist country, if such a thing exists anywhere.
1
Isn't it strange that his bigotry is swept under the carpet?
1
How many white people even live in India?
1
Over the course of the team's existence (70 years or so), it's had about 4 Christian players and 2 Hindus. The rest have been moo slims. As you say, it's very inclusive.

Anyone from Brixton with the tech and business acumen needed to make it in IT would have migrated to Northern Commiefornia by now, without giving Brixton a second thought.

A lot, not 'alot'. Blame the schools, not me.
1
Considering how bigoted we are, I'm amazed they even want to visit England, let alone live here.
