@cricketandbuddy but the vaccine keeps the majority of people out of the hospital. Not all vaccines prevent illness as we’ve learned with covid, but saves you from a long hospital stay, and worse case scenario, death.

Thank goodness my doctor tested my levels of D several years ago and I was deficient. Therefore, my husband and I both take D on a daily basis. We live in Oklahoma and are regularly in the sun in good weather, but I was still deficient. BTW- we are fully vaccinated and haven’t gotten covid or if we did, it was asymptomatic.

Dr. John, did fewer Scots get delta so when omicron came along it ravaged the country due to no/fewer previous recent infections?

Too many people with morbid obesity in the US and the resulting health problems. Unlike in the UK where you have easy access to miles and miles of walking/hiking trails or simply walking to the shops, the towns and cities in the US, especially the farther west you go, are so spread out that there are only roads and highways connecting one end to another with it frequently being too dangerous to walk along these highways into town. Too much fast food and too little exercise have taken a toll. And of course, many people can’t afford healthcare, so it’s neglected until it’s an emergency. Healthcare for all isn’t such a crazy idea since the US tax payers have been paying for the healthcare for the un- or underinsured for years in one form or another.

@jreynolds3208 sure. The doctors just love signing death certificates with covid as the cause. It really boosts their morale especially when they get to meet the orphaned children or a widowed husband or wife with kids. That's exactly why they went into medicine. How can you be so crass and even think they get paid more? "They" get paid for their services not per body.

@bessyfour5166 and how do you know that nobody you are referring to are/was asymptomatic? Did they have negative tests? Nobody knows how many were/are asymptomatic and that’s been the problem all along.
