  2. Not really, if the Medes are related to Parthians, then the connection might have came later.

  3. If Medes didn't exist, then Parthians wouldn't exist (their language is directly influenced by it), and then there would be no way to explain where did Kurdish or other Iranian languages that are related to Parthians came from.
