  1. As a Kurd, I would love to apologize over what my ancestors did to you guys. I understand your pain (kinda as I also saw the horrors of Anfal and other nightmarish events) History books in Iraq and Kurdistan region often ignore Iraq and the region's role in discrimination and genocide against Assyrians which is disgusting. Even today in Iraq, Turkey, and Syria... They are divided or fall victim to political issues. In Iraqi Kurdistan, they some Assyrians are allies of PDK (which is unironically racist against them) and PUK (which is cold or uncaring at best) or fall victim to lies of the Shia-dominated Iraqi parliament. In Syria, half of them support FSA, the others support SAA, and a part supports SDF (all of which aren't that friendly or benevolent to their identity as one is Islamist, the other is Arab-Nationalist, and the third is Commie) In Turkey, let's see... They could try to make themselves the allies of Turkish leftists because that might save them. However, most of those leftist parties are either useless or weak (HDP comes to mind) I hope your kind survives until another era, my brothers. I hope Christ protects you until then.

  4. As a Kurd whose ancestors may have had a part in this, I deeply apologize to Armenians for this dishonorable act. Even today, I feel ashamed of it. Another reason that makes it terrible and shameful is that Armenians in general helped our nation and culture survive, so I feel like it's a backstab. Even today, they are far more friendly to us. May Christ protect them, and never allow such tragedy to happen again.

  10. As a Kurd, I can say that their reasons were a mixture of religion and nationalism. I am deeply ashamed of their actions, but I can see why they would do that from an ideological perspective.

  18.  @Goodnightandgoodluck-c7m  If I ever become a president, I would start by making history lessons be more factual and from multiple perspectives. I would also try to remove the unholy occupation of the three main Iraqi positions of power by the Arabs and Kurds, and make it open to anyone as long as they're skilled. Finally, I would try to re-connect minorities (Assyrians, Yezidis, and Shabaks) to Iraq and Iraqi Kurdistan by accepting their history and uniqueness + adding some festivals and holidays to normalize their cultures. I mean, it's 2023 and we have clowns who act like Newroz is Paganism, so you think they like Akito? That's why education is needed.

Was fighting against Crusaders and Western Colonizers good? Yes, but was fighting against Christian minorities good? No! Besides, we Kurds have been oppressed by Muslims like you more than by Christians.

  21.  @astrobullivant5908  I feel like we Iraqis as a whole haven't moved past Ba'ath era which is why we still have much conflicts. We have a parliament, but we keep fighting with militias. We have an education system, but we still post history on Facebook and blogs. We have academic events for debates, but we do it on YouTube and Twitter. I mentioned the historical event problem, but who is going to listen? I'm even more depressed about Kurdification and Arabization of this country as they make minorities feel excluded.

I just hope Ninevah plains will become your independent region if Iraqi government agrees to it alongside Shingal becoming a Yezidi region. This way, you can have some political power, and protection from further massacres.

  37.  @Ashur-banipal  I personally believe that neither Kurdistan nor Assyria will be allowed as independent due to go-political issues. If Assyria becomes independent, it will not be supported by Iran, Iraq, Syria, Turkey or Kurdistan region (our current government is messed up) If Kurdistan becomes independent, same scenario will happen, but with more wars. I suggest we try to have cultural and economic improvements to our areas before we even suggest independence. Remember what Barzani did in 2017? Yeah, that's what nationalism without realism brought us.

  38. Call Christianity evil all you want, but at least under Christianity you wouldn't become another variation of Arabs. Islam is too Arabic to be a religion for all, and too cruel for non-Arabic cultures. Look at the lands they invaded, and see what happened to them. The language of the minorities are getting arabized, their lands are getting arabized, and their ability to exist grows smaller. I unironically wish Christ was still here, but here we are... In a world without our Lord to protect us from culture-destroyers.

  39.  @AtarahMata  From what I heard, the Kurdish tribes celebrated it too (free looting), and generally it was considered by most Iraqi Muslims as a victory against Westerners (Assyrians were allies of the British)

The British were already known to not be trustworthy, but it seems like you didn't have any other choice hence why you accepted their help. Anfal mainly targeted Kurds, but the jashs (Kurdish term for traitors who served Saddam) and Iraqi army also attacked Turkmen and Assyrians to weaken them as well. You might be Semitic, but since you didn't want to be arabized... Saddam saw you as a lesser being which is unfortunate. As for attacks in Europe, I'm afraid it is due to unregulated mass amount of refugees from Middle-East as extremists hide among them. I personally believe that only Middle-Eastern Christians and Yezidis or others (like Yarsans, Shabak, Feyli Kurds, Zoroasterians, and Sabeans) should be allowed as refugees most of the times as they are often targeted by extremists. Like, I don't dislike Muslims, but they generally don't like Europe, so why they want to live there? Anyway, I'm glad we met again after the discussion on that Seyfo video, boss ❤️

Like, we barely have any other extremist group that can reach this level. Not only they have high intolerance, but they also have racial and cultural bias which is a yikes. A better action would be protecting the remaining villages or Assyrian settlements or even avoiding them. This way, the apology won't sound meaningless.

  49.  @prisondaddy5037  Tbh, this issue is actually alot older than 1800s. If you go back to the Conquest of Syria, Iraq, and Persia... You notice a mistake by Islamic conquerors. They basically brought the people from Arabia to this area which led to problems, and let's say... Anyone who didn't speak or act like you suddenly became a pest. They judged first by religion then by culture, and Assyrians and Chaldeans were the first victims then the Yezidis became victims. Then we come to the era of the video in which our ancestors commit unholy atrocities. See? History repeated itself too many times, and we are unable to stop it.
