@Urgelt I will say to you "don't bet against China". Musk isn't the one doing the heavy lifting. It's his engineers. Do you think Chinese engineers are stupid or short sighted? Tesla is just one company while cumulatively China has more power than Tesla. CATL, BYD, SVOLT, GUOXIN ETC. How many companies buy Tesla battery?

@evboy4287 what actually is this 4860 cells or 2170 cells? Is it something to do with battery cell material or what?

@Urgelt who cares about AV. Never is AV associated with EV. As for factory this is not zero sum game. Even if Lexus build more factory than BMW doesn't mean they automatically will claim the throne of luxury car. Since when EV industry playing the different game to ICE industry? GM once a leader of ICE industry in sale for a long time before Toyota surpassed them.

@Urgelt I mean in the sense of EV industry, how it play a different rule here? I'm not talking about EV vs ICE here but EV vs EV. Of course Lexus never slam dunked BMW bcus even though they are competing in same segment but their exclusive offerings make the difference. German experience still Trump Japanese touch in luxury segment. Do you think many people don't want to own a BMW? Money is the problem here. But still Lexus managed to grab some market share. That's my point to tell here. Why Tesla is the choice of many? It's true outside of China because the selection of good EVs are limited and the presence of dedicated Chinese EV makers still not significant but in China BYD beat Tesla in overall BEV sales. And the top seller is Wuling.
