Why would Poland leave NATO? Dream on.

@vergil7185 Because Poland and Romania are in NATO which is a collective treaty organisation. After 911 NATO allies assisted the US in Iraq and Afghanistan and gave their lives there. Ukraine is not a NATO member country. Note that Poles and Romanians actually provide more to NATO than France and Germany. And even the US have said that Western Europeans are not giving commensurate contributions. Ukraine on the other hand is fighting Russian aggression and Poland et al are doing a lot to help it. So your analogy fails.

@vergil7185 No. The logic is like this. NATO is an alliance which has requirements to join. You need to have regulated borders to join NATO. And each member has to accept you in. And the process takes many years to join. Those risks are baked in when you join NATO. It's not how I'm reading your comments, it's how you're drawing an analogy between the soldiers in Ukraine from Europe to protect Ukraine where no such treaty exists and NATO or any other treaty of mutual defense that nations sign. Also Article 5 does not mean others will just march out or fly out and defend you. You need to educate yourself. Poland has a large army and is arming and so is willing to have the men and weapons to protect NATO members, as has the USA. British soldiers understand that Poles will defend them as part of NATO and vice versa. But Ukraine is not in NATO. That's why TRUMP doesn't want them in NATO currently because he takes NATO seriously and it would mean the US would have to fight Russia and so WW3 as he said. If NATO was a joke for him he'd promise them membership just before the US pulled out.

@ You're being hysterical. And you made a poor analogy. Anyway you're now going off on a tangent. Poland did not sign an mutual defense treaty with Ukraine. Don't make stuff up. Also why don't you ask why the Germans don't defend Ukraine. They saw a lot of action with Ukrainian forces on the same side in the 40s.

Poland will send troops only if the US sends troops.

@Player-re9mo No it's not. Go away Russian.

@ Self hating Romanian, sure. If you can't tell the difference between civilised and peaceful discussions about history and violent aggression, I can't help you. Your schooling has failed you.
1
@DrAhzek No such thing. There are no joint European forces because most Europeans do not feel threatened by Russia.

No. Trump did not say that. Trump and his SECDEF have said that they're considering more troops for Poland and that they will defend Europe via article 5. Please don't spread Russian propaganda. Trump did say earlier that those countries which don't contribute enough may perhaps find the US not helping them if they're attacked. BUT those countries are Germany, Belgium, Spain and Portugal. Those countries will not be attacked by Russia because Russia has to go through Poland first and there are also US troops in Poland and Ramstein in Germany.
