  1. $5 is a lot of money. Maybe in the still wealthy European Union, it's peanuts but for 90% of the world, it's a lot of money.

  3.  @josecoronadonieto6911  During the Cold War the Americans built Japan up. Previously the Europeans transferred tech to Japan. Japan was a beneficiary of so much good will from the West, all to offset the power balance against China in the late 19th century. It's no wonder the Chinese are peed off.
