Short term thinking. Who is going to buy these products though, if everyone is unemployed?

@JakoWako Serve them with what? And serve how many? And in exchange for what? And could not many of these rich also not be replaced by AI? Why can't AI be a better CEO or CFO? I really don't think it's simple at all. AI, if it plays out the way pundits play it out to be, AI replaces human intellect. Whereas previously we replaced manual labour and very dedicated manual tasks, AI can now replace all human activities. And again, what with the idle people? Would they stand forit? Or would there be unrest, crime and collapse of society?

If AI replaces most jobs (if not all) who is going to buy these companies' products?

@RightBoyKA-POW Neither did these companies. It's short term vision, all of it. Of course in the short term it benefits them but once it becomes ubiquitous, these companies will also be in trouble. And something will have to be done with the people who can't work or there will be unrest. In history one gets people to do work to avoid people having idle time on their hands. One has to occupy the population and feed / clothe them. And with decoupling from China, where are the cheap clothes and gadgets going to come from? And if AI robots make these in US factories, again what will the people do? What will they eat? And will corporations feed, clothe, entertain and house them for nothing? I doubt it.

@iceblu4713 Second thing is that people with nothing to do do bad things. Idle hands do the devil's work. But there is truth to that saying. Throughout human history idle populations had to be kept occupied. This often occurred through war and conquest or working for the master on his fields and mines. But if AI can farm, mine, etc what will people do. Well there will be unrest and we already have no major wars which means those with high testosterone levels can't be keeled off leaving more sensible and docile people, we'll see big problems emerge unless the AI think reaches some limit and ends up having little effect in the long run. Or we invent perpetual motion and food, clothes, housing from nothing, but that is impossible according to the Laws of Thermodynamics.
