Even after WW1 ended the Brits sided with Germans more than Poles and it was thanks to the French and Poles own hardship that Poland's independence was restored. The Americans helped a bit too. But Britain has a title of PERFIDIOUS ALBION. That is the quintessential British attitude. Anglo-Chauvinism. Britain is only a so-so ally for Poland.

Europe has been 'supporting' him for 3 years. And the best is a war of attrition. In that time the French and Germans have done b-gger all. In Poland we took many Ukrainians including young guys in their Ferraris who ran away from the war and boss themselves around Poland. What is Zelensky offering? Just rude words. He has to shut up and listen to Trump. Trump is the only person on this earth who can save him. Trump is the only person who can save Europe, Korea, Taiwan and Japan. Trump is bombastic but so what. If Trump says ceasefire, then ceasefire. Then Ukraine can rebuild and re-arm. We can see what follows later. But presently Ukraine cannot win back the lost territories. Europe itself is not willing to arm itself. Most European countries don't spend the 2% never mind 5% on defense. PRAGMATISM has to prevail.

  9. This is Russian propaganda, dianne or should I say Olga? NATO is still strong, that's why Trump doesn't want to let Ukraine in because Ukraine would trigger a war between the US and Russia. If NATO was dead, Trump would let them in, or even promise them now, and he'd wink to Putin, that he's gonna pull out. Putin is only afraid of the US. He's not concerned about France.

  11.  @tonibaker3823  But for most of Europe, Russia is not seen as a threat. Russia is a threat to Finland, The Baltic states, Poland, Romania and maybe Slovaks. Nobody else sees Russia as a threat because 1. The Russians won't invade them. 2. Russia wants to sell them cheap gas and oil. Europe has no defense industry because such costs billions of Euros. There is no money for that. There is money for green things and changing nuclear to wind and solar only and for social grant payouts. Come on. Don't say Europe will step up. Europe (Western Europe) DID NOT STEP UP for the past 3 years. We can't. We don't have the euipment or the manpower. It would take decades to build that.

  14. This tells me this guy is a full on BSer. NATO ambassador, my foot. So Poland is to extend its air defense into Ukraine? How? Poland has at best 5% air defense coverage, and he wants Poland not to use that on key strategic locations but on Ukraine? How can you guys invite someone who says such utter nonsense. Surely he'd know the air defense capability of Poland and Romania, or is he just blabbering random things?

Poland was reborn because of the efforts of countless Poles at home and abroad, many of whom maintained the Polish language and Catholic religion. Remember Poland was being Russified in the east and Germanified in the West. Wilson helped Poland but was not the sine qua non of why Poland returned. Poland would have returned ultimately if not for WW1 then in WW2 or later. But for Poland's return you needed POLISHNESS and that was the Polish language with traditions and mainly the Catholic Church. Without the Catholic Church, no Poland. Without the maintenance of the language by Polish parents at home when Polish school was forbidden, no Poland. Thank you. Remember also that America owes a lot to Poland too. It's possible the Americans would have lost their war against the British were it not for Kosciszko saving Gen Washington and for Pulaski for not strenthening and actually founding the US cavalry. Countless Poles contributed to America, including the inventor of the hydrogen bomb, of the Uman-Teller device.

I don't think this will work despite the tensions between Russia and China, both want the US hegemony to collapse meanwhile Trump would like Russia to team up with him while Biden wanted Russia weak but not collapsed and broken up by internal tensions.   36.  @TheLAGopher  French don't have a credible deterrent. The Russians have 6000 warheads, the French have 300. It's no contest. Moscow could nuke all of France and forbid anyone else from responding because they'd still have enough for every other industrialised country on earth. It's not enough to have a few warheads, that's why Russia still has some respect from China. China is increasing her arsenal and maybe in 20-30 years will surpass Russia.

And in addition most of Europe does not want to do that because most of Europe is either FAR from Russia (i.e. it has buffer states) or it thinks "NATO will protect us" i.e. "The US will protect us". I am ashamed of Europe. I am European but I am ashamed of Europe. It did almost NOTHING for the past 3 years.
