  1. Maybe. But in 1945 the Yanks sorted you guys out and then invested heavily and protected the Western part which still enjoys American protection. You so love the Americans you even did not want them allowing your neighbours into NATO and you've built Putin up. It's fun to make fun of the Yanks but had the Russians taken all of your nation, you''d be a sh-t hole now.

  3. One doesn't need to know how much a kg or km is. You work with what you have in your environment. If the locals use miles, you put that in your GPS application. You buy food and other products in predetermined packets, for example there is a container of milk or a bag or flour you will buy. There is no need to visualise these things.

  5. In the States the engineers and scientists use the metric system. Medicine uses metric, they give their patients 5mg of enalapril or 40mg of furosemide. US military also use metric for most things outside of caliber.

  6. There's a joke about that. A comedian speaks perfect queen's English and says to the English audience: "You may not recognise my accent, it's educated". The educated people especially younger will use meters.
