They have low "reported" crime rates. Now bear in mind CP production was legal in Japan until early 2000s, and CP ownership was legal until 2010 or so. How many people have they arrested for CP ownership since then. Probably not many. Amazon Japan just pulled the CP off their store front. And I don't talk here about the anime stuff.

Muta is not an expert yet he talks about Twitch and censorship and who should and who should not speak about it.
14
Nanking? Korea? Philippines? Etc.
12
And yet the TMP is still as useless or maybe more useless considering their budget and manpower when compared to Brazil.
9
@opalyasu7159 What about Lindsay Hawker, murdered by a Japanese man?
6
@ronel7836 The country is not that safe for women and perhaps young girls. There are safer countries in Europe for such people.
5
@elderman64 There you go. But people make Japanese into angels or something. The weebery online is really too much. You live in Japan. Please tell me how come CP was legal for so long in Japan. And why they still have 10 year old junior idol photobooks and DVDs sold on Amazon Japan and Rakuten? Do ordinary people not care that child exploitation occurs so much?
5
@SnakeMC96 You do know that right now women and children are dying all over the place, especially in wars and your blood boils over this case which happened many years ago?
4
@kokea4349 Not accusing you. But I know that lives for many people have different values. People get sad when its someone they know that passes away but some stranger somewhere - that's not as bad. And people from own country or thought to be similar or people who are liked, if they undergo tragedy, they are also empathised with more than some people who one doesn't know or maybe has prejudice against. Again, not accusing you.
4
@kokea4349 Or one values some lives over others because one is into anime/games/manga and the Akiba scene
3
@volterkeg People concern themselves over a murder because it was in Japan but 20 years ago. This sort of thing happens all the time so people need to stop the weebery.
3
@volterkeg Nobody got berated by the way. I made an observation. You're berating me mate. Did you read what I wrote or did you skim it? Now go away and find some friends to pester.
3
Cringe. And garbage. SOG is like the DSP of this scary game thing.
2
Maybe they are just useless.
2
True. He should have stuck to a "wholesome" Japanese activity such as buying 12 year old junior idol DVDs or going to a handshaking event with little girls. I'm sorry but Japan has greater priorities and that's to deal with their child exploitation issues.
2
If US sends navy seals to Russia it's nuclear war. US is not even willing to back Ukraine properly so they will never send SEALS to Russia. It would be a one way trip and 3rd World War.

I suppose had the guy flushed and washed the toilet bowl Muta would have not put that most evil clickbait thumbnail. It would only be evil but not most evil. And when is murder not evil? Is it less evil if someone kills an adult or an elder? All murder is equally evil.
1
@d.optional3381 Did you? All murder is equally evil because murder is defined as taking innocent life. Note that killing is not always murder, for example a legitimate target killed in war, such as soldiers killing each other in combat is not murder, nor is killing in self defense not is capital punishment. All people regardless of age who are killed if they are innocent are by definition murdered. All murder is equally evil. What don't you agree with?
1
@d.optional3381 The act is evil regardless. The culpability of the child, if the child could not tell evil from good are a different issue. You see you need to consider that as well. The act of killing the parents in your example is evil unless it was in self defense i.e. the parents were not innocent. I would exclude accidental killing here such as maybe a child got angry and pushed them and they fell and broke their necks or the child let the gas run and a fire started by accident. But if the child is not capable of telling wrong from right the child is not culpable and is then judged either insane or incapable of knowing good vs bad. But the act itself is still evil. Two innocent people lost their lives because of an action of another person. So one can discern as the act being evil but the perpetrator in that case may not be evil. I agree the topic is complex. Hence there is no need for degrees of evil. An act is either evil or not. Taking innocent lives is an evil thing to do although the person at the time may not have realised it was an evil thing or that death would have occurred and had they known or been capable of knowing maybe they'd have acted differently. So we have an act = killing of an innocent = evil. And the perpetrator, did he do it intentionally and did he know it was wrong to do it? Could he have predicted that his actions would have led to death?

@Livi_Noelle They are mid? What do you mean they are mid? With the budget and manpower, they are not mid. They are the bottom of the barrel. Totally useless. American FBI is sometimes good but that's because of money and manpower. Japan is No 3 or 4 richest country in the world. They are loaded with cash. So cash was not a problem. Lack of evidence was not a problem. So they're either incompetent or they let the killer go on purpose. Both make them look bad.
1
For a supposed intelligent (educated) society, so many people assume stupid things quickly. And they don't seem to trust each other.
1
If they are operating there they're likely GRU connected. GRU are the real secret service of USSR and Russia. KGB/NVKD was the weaker service.
1
@mrbigforeheadlex I don't follow your incredulity. Usefulness is judged in terms of cost. You can't fault poor performance when you're spending peanuts. But Japan spends a ton load. It's the 4th richest country in the world. If you want a rational comparison give Brazil a Japanese budget and then see or correct for that using scientific and statistical means.
1
To be fair, some Japanese do get away with garbage. There is a sister city programme all over the world. Well some Japanese cities have dropped their twin/sister city program with those cities where memorials to Korean comfort women were built. Korean comfort women were women in Korea, during WW2, who were forced into prostitution by Japanese soldiers.
1
PUBLISHERS (not developers)
1
@toolegittoquit_001 If so well mannered why were they so barbaric in the 1940s? What changed since then? And why only ban child porn 10 years ago?
1
Nintendo needs to sue. And you guys need to follow the copyright holders' wishes. If you want you to emulate your legally purchased games on some other platform, you then can't do it.
1
I'm not from Europe when reading German.... I doubt he's that clued up. Of Course Germany runs Europe. But he's not that clued up. In Europe we all speak Deutsch.
1
Why do you say ONLY place with very little crime? Can you trust Japanese police stats. They're dubious. Also Japan leads many countries in s-e-x crimes eg groping, theft of underwear and peeping. Women face a lot of se-xual harassment at work. Japan under reports these because there is a stigma to reporting while police charge only those crimes they can be sure of winning given the high conviction rate. But weebs will say it's a low crime country, always say 'it's thought or alleged to be a low crime country', whatever that means. They even have seperate women only trains to prevent groping.
1
@williammclean6594 It's probably a bias. Crime shows cherry pick cases which are easy to dramatise and sell to TV networks.
1
If you guys respect the ojisans at Nintendo Japan, you will not emulate their games (even if purchased legally). Buy their consoles and buy their games.
1
@vayne7556 You can't. The developer or rather the publisher (or IP holder) does not want you to play their games. Strictly speaking you don't have a right to play those games. I'm sorry but that's how it is.
1
I don't know. Eating raw fish and one of the highest rates of stomach cancer in the world, and cleanliness...
1
@kokea4349 I didn't know that. But Amazon Japan and other sites still sell "junior idol" material.
1
@JoJo-gt7ty Dude, Japan banned real CSAM production in the early 2000s or late 90s and ownership of CSAM recently. The loli stuff is sick and it can foster incorrect behaviour in people who have such tendencies. You can't hide violent crimes like murder and so on but rape can be underreported because women aren't always beaten up terrible when they are abused. And there is a stigma to reporting in Japan. It's well known. And their police keep stats in a funny way. They also charge people mostly in cases they are assured of success in court, given the high rate of convictions. There is a lot of sexism in Japan. It would be better for Japanese women to face less of that.
1
Good. So either buy the game and console or avoid Nintendo. People need to respect Nintendo.
1
@LE_Arasaka I agree. But the copyright holder has a right (legal and moral) to decide how you use their IP. If Nintendo does not want you to play their old games, you're not allowed to play them. They want you to buy their new things. Property rights allow Nintendo to deny you the right to play their games if your old (no longer sold) conmsole breaks but you still have the purchased games.
1
@RetroReviewYT Do what Nintendo wants and don't emulate. If they no longer sell the games and h/w, don't play them.
1
I run AdBlock but not sponsorblock. I do see occasional ads, there are ads in terms of some videos listed being actual ads for companies. Those don't autorun but are in the grid of videos YT shows me. I don't mind those. Maybe having a banner or two won't affect YT. But I suppose the revenue woudn't be good enough.
1
Japan arrests guys for selling silly pokemon while Amazon Japan sells "junior idol" child gravure. Japan has really f-ed up laws.
1
Ask them about junior idols and ask why Japan only banned child porn about 10 years ago. DO you know that had this guy gone to an event where he can gawk and sing along with 12 year olds, it would have been acceptable? Ask those nice people about that. By the way Japan is trying to stimulate tourism. It's a major Japanese government issue. The way I see it that many people there are unfriendly and not so tolerant despite voting for governments which want to stimulate tourism. They're a somewhat xenophobic society. You know rowdy and rude tourists occur everywhere but we don't lose our sh=t over them. Somehow something this mild occurs and weebs around the world rush out to defend Japan. My goodness.
1
But Japanese tend to be against Comfort Women memorials.
1
He spoke "European".
1
It made no sense for Sony to sue Bleem. Sony does not make profit on consoles. It makes profit through game sales. I suppose Bleem could allow for easier piracy. But if not for that, a Bleem user still had to purchase the actual DVD or CD (PS1) to play the game. Bleem could be asked to co-operate with Sony and check to make sure the games were legit and not copies.
1
That's why they only banned child porn about 10 years ago and they still produce it as "junior idol gravure". Amazon Japan sells these. So much for honour.
1
Irdeto is a South African company. They're just as hated here as elsewhere. They now threaten to arrest people who watch pirated TV streams.
1
Surely this is a Japanese company just being Japanese. It's corporate rule to the extreme with no leeway, their way or the highway. I'm not sure why anyone is surprised. Most Japanese anime is made in such sweatshops.
