  1. In 2014, my older partner went into congestive heart failure and had to be put in a nursing home. I talked with a friend of mine at that time who was a nurse. That guy told me that if the patient is capable of getting home health care, that usually is not only cheaper but has better outcomes. I had thought the opposite, that a hospital or nursing home would have more emergency care. But he said that people do better at home in familiar surroundings.
