  1. Chicago? Why not a short drive north in Milwaukee, or some other purple state like Arizona? Chicago, true or not, still has a reputation for murders. Their mayor who was a possible rising star in the Democratic Party, was defeated in the primary for re-election. Putting the convention in Wisconsin would help shore up that state for the general election, which is critical for Democrats (see 2016). Also, nothing bad has ever happened at a Democratic National Convention held in Chicago (see 1968).

  2.  @kcolonelx6181  Like I said, "true or not" when referring to murders in Chicago. Politics is often based on perception, not reality. You can claim everything you wrote all you want, but I am thinking more about what the Republican attacks will be for having the convention in Chicago. Milwaukee would be a much better location for resisting Republican attacks and for helping to win Wisconsin in the 2024 presidential election. In 2020, Wisconsin was won by Biden by a 0.63% margin over Trump. In 2016, Wisconsin was won by Trump with a 0.77% margin over Hillary Clinton.
