  1. One of the few things that stopped Trump was the judiciary. The times the Supreme Court stopped Trump, it was usually one conservative -- either Roberts or Gorsuch -- siding with the liberals. But now that the balance is 6-3, that would not stop Trump (or another authoritarian Republican) if they get elected President again. All Trump would need in a second term is a 5-4 coalition of conservatives on the Supreme Court, and then Trump could do whatever he wants with no one to stop him.
