  1. A few years ago, the right-wing president lost the election, claimed it had been rigged, and incited his followers to violently attack congress. He was then charged and convicted. His sentence banned him from public office for 8 years. No, this was not the USA. It was Brazil. Brazil's justice system successfully kept their far-right insurrectionist former president Jair Bolsonaro banned from office for 8 years. And his crimes happened in 2022, not 2020. Brazil's justice system protected that country. Our corrupt justice system failed us.
