  1. I had FHP HMO (no longer there) in CA. I chose it bc it had out of network coverage. I moved to Texas and had a hospitalization. Afterwards, FHP retroactively disenrolled me! After a lot of haranguing with my employer, they got Blue Cross to cover most of my large hospital bill. Years later, United Healthcare would deny the same claim from the same provider about once out of every four claims. That never got straightened out, and I had to pay for all those appts. Under Obamacare, it took 3 months to get an appt with my primary. Private healthcare sucks.
